If the woofer were slapping that much you were probably bottoming out all your drivers thus generating heat in the voice coils loosing up the coil glue causing them to seize up. Evidently you found that out.

I got it pretty well into the red but backed off before my speakers developed Skynyrd Syndrome :laughing5:

That amp is missed here, Quasi or not

We have a name for that now

The Skynyrd Syndrome

Lmfao. That's great!!! Somebody has to be a guinea pig. Why not me.. If I got it I'm gonna push it to the extreme every time. Lee told me to drive it like I stole it. When somebody tells me that usally in the end something happens .. And now it has a name....

Fed Ex says the amp will be delivering tomorrow. :blob5:

WOO-HOO!!!

All the talk of speaker failure reminds me of the following. It is posted on the front of my Cyrus PSX module, and may get posted on the traveling WOPL while here in Independence.

ACHTUNG! Alles touristen und non-technischen peepers! Das machine kontrol is nicht fur gerfinger-poken und mittengrabben. Oderwise is easy schnappen der springenwerk, blowen fuse, und poppencorken mit spitzinsparken. Der machine is diggen by experten only. Is nicht fur geverken by das dummkopfen. Das rubbernecken sightseenen keepen das cotten picken hands in das pockets, so relaxen und watchen das blinkenlights.

Great contribution !!!! By coining the phrase...
now I am forever part of the whole WOPL movement .
WOTW!!!!!

It would never had been had you not turned the volume knob to the right :laughing5:

Your like the Chumlee of this board...

Rick: go ahead Chum, fire this 150 year old blunderbuss, it's should be ok hehehehehehee

Phoenix Forum WOPL Stars version:

Lee: Go ahead and crank that bitch Jason, you can't hurt it (he left out about what would happen to the speakers though hehehehehee)

yep! that's a good label.... :laughing5:

It arrived here about 3:30 PM. Photos to follow. I doubt the FedEx ape tossed it...the packaging is VERY impressive.:blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5::blob5:

The amp is impressive, especially on percussion, but is short of knocking my socks off - moderate sound levels, you know..

How many watts is this thing capable of, anyway? I may try more gain tomorrow.

When I powered it up (both gain knobs were turned to full after unpacking - almost got Skynyr'd, nuyck, nuyck) one LED on the left meter was dead, and two on the right meter.

I think that one was 486 per in too 8. The quasi's have less soundstage than the fc's.

That amp to be enjoyed needs to be cranked unless you have very sensitive speakers. She shines at just under half volume and up. Lesser volume levels I found were fine with a little bit of eq boosting or adding some subharmonic ooompf

I have given up on rating amps at conversation level and under. When you put the gas to them, that's when you really experience what all that power can do and that's put a huge shiteatin' grin on your face. If the bass is not punching you in the face, you need to turn that knob to the right

Leave the big volume knobs all the way to the right and use your pre and crank that bitch. You will hear when it comes alive. And that particular amp needs to be left on for 2 days before it really gives ya all it has in the sonics area!!! The FC's added a lot more low end from what I've noticed. Wider soundstage and overall midrange is tighter and more musical.
