It's in CT now, so it should arrive tomorrow.
I had plans of going out with the family today but I guess I better stay home and see if it shows. We had snow lastnight and it's a bit cold so I don't want it just dumped on the front deck. Got a tracking number Joe?

@Lee. Well, considering the price of a used 700B + WO. That would cost more. But these are not apples-to-apples comparisons. The Crown is $599 new but not a better amp then the PL IMHO.

60 cycle hum I refer to is not what's coming from the speakers. It is transformer magnetostriction. Now I do understand that the "actual" frequency could be different, but it's constant. I have found that this noise can be diminished or largely eliminated by a filter that essentially effects the AC waveform at the zero crossing. Or, I should say - or so I'm told. But I have tried it, and it does indeed work. However, I have not had any success whatsoever on EI transformers. Only toroidial types. (PS Audio:Humbuster)

In many circumstances, that sort of hum doesn't matter much when the music is turned up. But at lower listening volumes with quiet music, it's something that can stand out.

On the PL, I really didn't notice it as a big problem.

Man, I am almost thinking of offering up one of my FC 400s for a WORKING rebuilt non FC 700B with very nice cosmetics. I wanted to run one to each speaker but getting ALL 4 meters on the amps to operate in unison probably is not going to happen. It would look silly if just one meter is operating in each amp

Then again, I can always get another set of speakers since the C1 that will be back home soon has outputs for multiple amps

I need to stop thinking about this shit LOL

Just think what it would sound like with 4 speakers thumpin Ron.
Yeah Ben, it would be cool. I have these Mach 3's that need to be refoamed though and I am just not interested in doing the refoaming myself. I also spent all morning looking at online vendors and I just don't trust their descriptions of product. I have a feeling the Mach 3's have their own specific surround though it might be the same as a Mach 2 but I am hesitent to gamble on an unknown. I watched the Parts-Exress video of how to refoam and I think they did a shitty job, excess glue everywhere and the wrong dustcap installed. I would not let them change my toiletpaper roll!!!!

sounds like a lot of the guys that do it here, then argue that their work is better than the original…..
…. and that's exactly why I do my own, 'coz then they look and work EXACTLY like the original.
you can get pretty good at it after doing it for 30 odd years, but by the same token, I've seen some real rubbish from guys doing it for just as long…..

I will look through my pm's for the number but I may have already deleted it when I cleaned out my PM box so it would be better if you could PM it to me Lee

BTW, the Big Bitch just arrived, love the road/cabbage case. Time to see what this baby can do :evil4:
