Dropping $450 for an amp that is basically going to be gutted is not something most people can afford to do when your looking at a rebuild with a price tag of $700-1000. I wish I had the money to throw around like that

I need to get this C1 preamp recapped and BillD modded, wish I could afford to do it, especially with Blackie so close to coming home. My other preamp only has a single preamp out section so unless I figure out something pretty quick, one of the amps is going to be a dust collector and that will seriously bum me out

One of these days maybe one will fall in our laps Ron !! I can't really swing. 500$ plus a 1000$ upgrade either. But one of these days it will work. And if it don't that's ok. We both have 400's atleast.

Nice!!! Bertha works and when she gets a new faceplate, she will be the best looking Bertha around! PM Skratch and see what his timeline is on the 400 faceplates. Do you have a few short bolts with nuts to tighten up that faceplate? Only one holding it on is not a good thing, you need at least one other for the other side

Yep today I'll get to spend more time with her. I'll get a couple bolts rounded up. I still got to check fuses. Get the 700 crated up!and maybe put up my jolida on ak. Not sure yet!
 
I thought I just blew up my speakers lol. It drooped out all except mids and they sounded blown as hell! I was like wtf. Shut it down and rebooked up to the 700 and everthing was fine. Then I checked the fuses and yes I blew 1 of the 5 amp buss fuses
 
Told ya so LMAO, this is why I said get the fuses before Bertha got there. Those amps don't like anything less the a 8 amp fastblo. You technically can get away with a AGC 8amp fastblo until you can get hold of some AGX's. You can always run over to your local Rat Shack and get a bag of 8's

You should see the pile of 5amp blown ones I have accumulated before Jer told me to run 8s, have not blown one since

What do you mean a single pre out section??
 
lowes, Home Depot, any electric retailer(indusrial) will have fuses. As Ron has said even Home Depot has been out at times. What outputs does it have Jase?
 
I would rather trade both the Carver's toward a SPEC 1, I would like to have my system look somewhat matching
