    Well it seems like the solenoid driver transistor is open. Check Q609, D609 and R630, also check for cracked solder joints, I've had to deal with many of these on my first one.

    Well just looked at the mechanism operation description in the service manual, the direction switching solenoid (green wires) is only activated during forward play. So that could be a mechanical problem or oxidation of the autoreverse switch. Anyway it's also good to stop for a time and get back...

    Maybe something wrong with the solenoid. The new EG530AD-2B motors are Chinese knockoffs, they're not as good as the original Mabuchi ones.

    The 2F won't work as it's a CW rotation, you need a CCW motor, like a 2B.

    These EG530AD motors are used on car decks, so they could get 13 or 14V power supply without issues. Is the speed changing when you adjust the motor trimpot ?

    The tire should always touch the motor shaft. On long time unused decks this can mark the tire. Is the spring properly mounted ?
