    Restoring the Phase Linear 700b

The bias leads in that picture are braided. I don’t think braided, twisted, or loose, has any effect on performance, I just tried something different on that specific build. I typically just twist the bias leads to keep them together during assembly.

    Restoring the Phase Linear 700b

See this thread for a full 700B build incorporating the White Oak backplane boards that replace all the point to point components and TO-3 output sockets. https://forums.phxaudiotape.com/threads/700b-customer-build.11033/ I have an original PL 700B solid knob that you could refinish. Let me...

Keep that plastic chair away from fire and hot objects… Looks like something got a little too close.

    PL400 SII Update

This is your 400 SII, I will post further build pictures when I get a chance.

If that meter range switch is in the center position, you were not kidding about playing it loud! Getting into the Red side of the VU meter on a Model ONE will make some serious dB's

    Phoxtrots first WOPL

Here is a typical component list for a PL400 SII full WOPL build, see any of my past builds for examples of this assembly. As mentioned, be patient in waiting for responses as White Oak is a one man show with extreme thoroughness and attention to detail. Bold items can be ordered directly from...

Hope that Land Rover model in the background is not metallic so it doesn’t corrode away to nothing.

    Phase Linear 700b transistors

Although it’s nice to have all output devices from the same lot and matched specs, it’s not necessary as the emitter resistors swamp out component differences and promote current sharing.

My First WOPL 400 Series 2 Build

Nice work. Don't forget you need to lace in two 22AWG wires to fused B- (plus a ground) to feed the Cylon meters. See below for recently completed 400 SII with two Blue and one Black 22AWG to the left of the control board. It's easier to add them now rather than waiting until after placing...

My First WOPL 400 Series 2 Build

A few comments: - Check the wire lengths on both left and right boards. - Right board has wire lengths very short and most likely must be updated: - GND_IN1, GND_IN2 - Fused_B+_IN Now is a good time to add a Green wire to the right board at Fused_B+_Out for the DCP board.

Birth of a New Model One

Very nice! Glad to see another Model ONE making music out in the world. Interesting to see the size comparison to a 700B, the power supply toroidal transformer within the ONE is massive (along with twice the capacitance of a 700B).

    Hi Everyone!

I can probably help with a full WOPL rebuild, send me a note to further discuss potential timing.
