Be cautious when mounting the backplane boards to the chassis. The left board has the bias transistor offset slightly from the PCB hole and could damage the leads when trying to mount the p-clamp on the chassis standoff.

You may want to look into replacing that wall wart power supply with a dedicated power supply. Most digital components respond very well to improved power supplies capable of supplying short high bursts of current, something wall warts typically do not provide.

Those locking bananas work very well in stock PL binding posts. Probably the best way to go Vs upgrading to new binding posts.

Not a direct drop in replacement, but worth the effort. Same speaker outputs as used on the Model ONE amp. Keystone binding posts Black - 7017 White - 7016 Red - 7023 Standoffs - 91156A163 (McMaster Carr) Requires 10-32 standoffs with 4-40 studs.

The solution - install real banana jacks that have sufficient depth.

Other than your bank account, you won’t regret a Model ONE. After listening to that first song and ah-ha moment, audio nirvana sets in and any reservations completely disappear. Once ya know, ya know…

I’m just assembling the PCB’s on this project. Kevin plans to assemble everything else and has an interesting new twist for the final look on his 700B. Should be an interesting build to follow. Always great to have new ideas from people on this forum.
