Just thinking the $Nx outlay where N=the number of Pyxis I'd have to buy :) I believe the MC10 Plus and follow-on cartridges in that series all had higher outputs. I actually have the original STM-72 matching transformer for my MC10...was thinking to try and put that between the MC10 and Pyxi...

Have to agree, Bob ... the advice I received from the tech talked to when I ordered mine was to keep it powered on all the time as SS components will settle out when warmed up. Guess that makes sense.

George - how do you switch power to the 2000-II ? The original power switch was on the back of the volume pot. Power strip or some external means to turn the preamp on/off?

Hopefully they track consistently ... I suppose that can be an issue?

I used your posts a while back to convert the dual gang to a new single gang balance control in my S2. I kind of like that configuration, but all this potentiometer refreshing is interesting, George. Thanks for posting the pics of the guts. Looks like you're rebuilding a watch!

Do they require you to be a Prime subscriber as well, or is this a separate service? I seem to recall Prime customers have access to some online music and possibly movies as well. Like Gene, I subscribe to Apple Music, and access it (as well as my ripped library on a NAS server) through iTunes...

I feed the output of the D50s into one of the AUX inputs of the Carver C1 ... and then that goes to the dbx PA2 crossover, to the amps, much like your multi-amp configuration.

I've had the D50s for the past couple years. Extremely impressed with it - over the D10 that I've had for much longer. Both are solid DACs, but the D50s is notches above the D10
