So the plate can be eliminated? As long as L/R signal grounds are tied together? Or is that not required as well?

Gene I noticed you don't seem to have a ground on the input ground copper plate tying it to the main busbar. Was there a reason? I'm wondering why have it at all if not for that reason.

Today is tear down day. Looks like the transformer got a little warm at some point. Any idea what to do about the loose plate?

Curious as to why... curiouser as to why you eliminated the bias transistors.

Thanks for posting the photo. I saved it as a wiring guide. Which 2 wires are you referring to Gene? The ones for meter lighting? The leads for the thermistor? Both? That's a good idea about the meter taps. I already had figured on connecting to the output side of the DCP. 2 ring terminals...

Well, before I place my order to WOA I thought I should check the transformer outputs first. No sense having a beautiful rebuild that can't be used. Under no load conditions as in Nothing connected to the transformer, my voltages seem a little low DC = +57.5 and -57.4 from rectifier with 5.7 vac...

Hey guys, need some guidance. I'm going full comp on this restore. So do I need 8 of the 96's and 8, 95's or 6 and 6 then order RCA 410's for drivers?

Got plenty of the fuses...everything else is on the list. Might double up on the Busbar/rectifier/snubber parts. Have to go back into my other 400 to add the nylon washers between the transformer and the aluminum riser anyway.

I always wanted to try bi=amping, but never bought a stand alone active crossover or a pair of speakers that could be bi-amped. A small mod to these SM-155's will resolve that issue then I can check it out once I have Val resto modded and tested.

Thanks for this George. I took the time to read the whole thread...and reread it...and again...lots to digest. I'm left with the question of how then to control the output of my pl400. My problem is I have the pre out of an Sa 9800 to control 3 power amps. 2 pl400's and the amp stage of the...
