Well the Solaris phono pre I ordered is all paid up and I have some tubes on the way for it. I should have the pre in a few weeks home, depending when the tubes arrive. So I'll be able to play records again soon.

I ended up getting some 1971-73 Voshkod Rocket 6N23P single wire grey shield tubes. I'm told these are very good and less expensive too.

I couldn't take away his dream deck, any more then I can buy it off him. Nice gesture, but I'd still have a 950 deck to let go of. I talked to the seller of Steven's deck and told him I'd buy it off him if Steven can't follow through with the sale. I'm not counting on that.

Could be, but its not that loud. The sub is just being used to fill in the low end, not boom in the room. Really it shouldn't be doing it at this volume level. I was playing Sting's- Soul Cages on one of the middle tracks when it was doing this.
