Just curious. The speaker protect board has a Zobel network. Does the White Oak board have one also? And would that be a problem? I remember removing the zobel from Don's speaker protection board on a couple of 400 rebuilds.

Micro seiki MA-77Mk1

Well somebody thought that tonearm was worth something on Ebay. Took about a day to sell it. That paid for the replacement Micro Seiki I am installing in it's place. When I get a minute I'll start a thread on the rebuild of this Thorens 125 MKII.

Yes, the lifter was a nice bonus when I bought this turntable! They ain't cheap.

I can't seen to find my thread gauge, and thought perhaps someone would have this on the tip of their mind.. Does anyone know the size of the nut which goes on the grounding post of the 4000? Thank you for your time!

I'd Replace these. You can see the right one has a bulge.. These are where one tests for bias.

I discovered that Isopropyl Alcohol removes hot glue like magic. I have a set of JBL's that had hot glue all over the crossover. The alcohol worked a treat.

On the units I've restored, I've gone ahead and replaced the 10W resistors on the back plane. Every one I've replaced has been out of spec. Just a thought.

That's the free thinking I love on this forum. I'm going to replace the tonearm, but continue to try and figure the story behind this one. Thanks for the idea.

Lol. Guess I'm on the hunt for a decent tonearm! My guess is this was one of the thorens offered by the factory without a stock tonearm. This project will utilize all the skills I have picked up working on stereo gear. Replacing 50 year old capacitors (phase linear ), wood cabinet refinishing...

Here are a couple more pictures. I'm really leaning towards homemade now. The ADT 6006 lifter is more visible as well.
