My Second WOPL Build This Time 700 Series 2

I got a little done on the new chassis. I put a new coupling switch in with new capacitors and may not use them now except to cover the hole. I see some builds the coupling switch is not used. When I did the 400, there is no coupling switch. Just run RG316 coaxial cables from the RCA inputs to...

My Second WOPL Build This Time 700 Series 2

I bought this PL700 II 6 years ago on Ebay. This one was wired up for 220/240 volts. Transformer wires were solid brown on the bottom post, solid blue and yellow w/brown stiped on the second post and yellow w/blue stripe on third post. I believe that solid brown and blue wires together on bottom...

Also on that PL 400 that I did, I had a probe slip and took out a zenor diode and a transistor. Your vid's will help me do my Pl 700II. I already replaced the meters with White Oak meters , you gonna love Em...

    PL 400 Bridge Rectifier replacement

    just got a 700 ii

The black face plate is I believe the way Clair Brothers Audio ordered the amps from Phase Linear. Intended for pro audio, hence the 1/4 inch input jacks. Serial numbers have nothing to do with the build year. You could look on the output transistors for a date, like 8026, provided transistors...

    Cathy Has Returned

that makes a lot of sense, Cathy does not have the big caps cradle on the transformer, so the caps would still be mounted in clamp straps. I can see that doable. I believe somebody would do that one day, if not already...
