Stu I did eventually contact him previously. Didn't feel the need to ask him about this though. Both techs I talked to state the Solen caps in the tube section have heat damage and that those caps don't like any sort of heat like even a soldering iron.

Pretty much Stu. Unless you buy Panasonics new UHD 4k Blu Ray player- the 900, you then will get audio outs on it. But its major cha ching. Another method is to use the HDMI out of the player into a DAC that uses HDMI ins, and then outputs via RCA.
