The games we play. I've had a new covertly bought amp right in the living room for six weeks now. I put a piece of cardboard in front of the stand to ' help keep dog hair off'. Wifey's memory is worse than mine ( except for every mistake I've ever made). By now she's forgot what the old amp...
I tried to add it to the PL museum, but got outbid by someone with deeper pockets than me. I figured the LEDs must be valuable judging by the steel flat bar security straps holding them on.
But hey..............someone is getting a working PL400 for a bit over fifty bucks I think it went for.
I wonder too. The poor things seem like the lowliest of all components. Not real pretty & not much press time like the electrolytic rage going on now.
I don't see ads for esoteric audiophile ceramic discs. There must be some though........
Has anyone built a WOPL700 on one of Joes new chassis? I've been reading all of the PL700 threads I can find & I think Lee commented once that the PL700 faceplate will fit the new 700b chassis?
If I stay original ish and just re populated control board, will
Don's WA relay board fit right in (...
One of these day's I'm going to buy a PL7000. I hope someone is around then to tune it up for me. The one on Ebay now is not bad. But a grand is a lot for me to drop on a non running unit. The battery damage sucks also.
None. Just 48 hours straight of freezing rain, sleet & slush. Stayed right around 32 deg. Might see the sun a couple days this week. But the stereo is rockin so.....................maybe a little Locomotive Breath will warm things up.
Member Mark Comer has done a bunch of videos on his WOPL adventures. That's how I found this place. His control board vid will give you a look at what all is in the kit.
I had friends who worked at a Rheem barrel plant just a couple miles from my folks house at Belleville Mi.
Late sixties/early seventies. 20-30 miles from Detroit ( I forget).
Yep, coolness. I was always amazed how well we could see the shuttle launches from the S.W, coast of Florida.
I look forward to trials of Musk's 'Heavy Lift' rocket. No Saturn 5, but impressive no less.
Have prices gone up from when they were in production?

To be fair, there are a few listings in the $3000.00 range also.
It's a shame that this modern gasoline does not last very long or I'd get a farm tank & stock up. My propane guy says he'd be glad to bring me one, as he has a yard full. Only a few customers left using them.
