Lee It probably won't matter much in your application but the caps on the snubber board are designed to be soldered on the backside of the board, in the shadow of the bridge rectifier. In that way, it keeps them out of the way of the wiring activity on the top side of the snubber board.

Totally different Jim. MOSFET have a positive tempco D-S unlike bipolars that have a negative tempco B-E. You can directly parallel MOSFETs and they will self balance as long as you have gate damping resistors to eliminate parasitic oscillations between the devices sharing the load.

Probably MOSFET tho...

Short answer, no. Just insure that you also add a very short jumper connection between the shells (ground connection) of the 2 RCAs as they enter the chassis. That is the function that the copper plate served.

Lee the input on the control board is direct coupled. It is recommended that you direct couple the RCAs into the input of the control board. Any decent preamp has a large coupling cap on the output. For reference, every PL400 ever built was direct coupled and came from the PL factory that way.
