Check the original 5,7,10, and 12 Polk woofers B4 u buy. The magnets separate causing the voice coil to rub. If the woofers are ok, apply a bead of JB Weld epoxy between the magnet and frame.

Murphy's Oil Soap cleaned off the smoke, which came from the lamp holder rubber. This meter is a Dixon, Inc brand with the movement at the bottom. Bezel is 4.6" wide and 4.1 " tall. The housing has openings for 4 lamps. It works just fine.
