some studying i did manage.. The most common weighting that is used in noise measurement is A-Weighting. Like the human ear, this effectively cuts off the lower and higher frequencies that the average person cannot hear. Although the A-Weighted response is used for most applications...

i keep the preamp at 1pm a bit past half way... i ran the dac at 85%.. streaming from apple music.... used the new spl meter i got in from amazon... was centered at 3.5m from the speakers... i was happy with the results...it is clean... very crisp...
