I got a hand full of the 1$ copper colored coins and the newer $2 coins, a few 80% silver 1951-53 half dollars and a baggie of nickels, dimes and quarters. It aint a lot but it adds up. I find them...

Ya gotta love the smoked wires going to the bridge rectifier, are the green DC wires from it to the bulk caps intact? One looks disconnected. Could be a trick of the light too.

Did the PO have the correct outputs and in the correct positions? Some guys like to monkey with stuff and end up installing incorrect parts.

Even worse than these two dildoes vying for your vote is Dr. Ruth has passed. If everybody was as honest and down to earth as her, we'd have far less problems in our world.

Working on Carver C4000 and could use some help

Unplug some of the boards and see if the short goes away and also check to see if any of the board connectors are off by a pin. These things are 2-easy to troubleshoot..

Working on Carver C4000 and could use some help

Use Ohms Law and find out how much (or how close you are to the rated wattage) current is flowing through and the voltage drop across it. You may be worrying about nothing.

] DON'T cut any traces. Troubleshoot the thing. Get a laser Thermometer and check how hot the resistors are getting. they are designed to withstand finger burning amounts of heat. Some will handle 150C and that will take the fingerprints right off you finger (And get off the Dim Bulb). If...

That's an awesome timepiece Jim. I sold the Omega and got a nice chunk of cash for it. I used the money for remodel of the house (bullshit story for the wife. I used the cash for some WOPL Parts from Joe). I'll get the rest of the parts here in about 2 weeks. I'm all wigged out since I tore the...

The Power Supplies on the C-4000 are crap and that is why me and Glen used the Power Supply Boards we had ginned up. When installed, they keep the PS Voltage spot on at 12VDC. Did you go around the boards and check the 12VDC (+ and -)? We've seen them down near 8 volts or less. We changed out...

Nice PL700II Clair Brothers WOPL ON SALE ON AK

This was one of my builds from a couple years ago. The owner is asking $1250.00 which is pretty dam low and it's still under my warranty. You can't build one for this price. Here is the link to it on AK. He is "thinning the heard". I have nothing to do with the sale except knowing a deal when I...
