    Another PL2000 S2 rebuild

I think my pre has become jealous since the WOPL came into play. It has played nicely but there were issues - channel imbalance, noisy volume adjustment and no output on left phono. Well... take it apart and start over.

    what are you listening to?

The only way it should be! I have been all over the place this evening with Artists/Genre. Currently playing what has become a real fav. From start to finish this just begs to let the WOPL do what the WOPL do. Jeff Beck - You Had It Coming

    Just some stuff

Also picked up this little beauty along the way. Came with two head shells, three carts and in the original packing. Hard to read the postage label, but it came from Japan to US in the 70's.

PL 700B blown fuses and transistors

As noted above, it is the way to go! Like George S., I did control boards and backplanes. I did stray from the norm and used ferrules instead of tinning wire before insertion. Some of my pics here > https://forums.phxaudiotape.com/threads/400-s2-wopl-in-progress.11212/page-2#post-346181

Appreciate it! Got the meters calibrated just now and putting the top on. B+/- = 85V, DC Offset = .2mV (L)/.7mV (R) Off to find some handles for this one. Will likely pull the face plate back off and clean-up the holes drilled for rack mount.

    400 S2 - Wopl In Progress

Quick update - Backplanes are done and sitting in the chassis for wire routing. Started work on Control Board. Question - The 22Ohm resistor for R37L/R and R41L/R is labelled as red-red-black-gold. The resistors in my kit are red-red-brown-gold (22.1Ohm). Is this correct?
