Tell me more about your tuner and your favourite channel.

For those needing tuner work, RadioXTuners, Punker X at ak has a very short backlog. Used to be over a year, down below a few months now. He is in Flint, MI and I’ll probably let him tackle the 719 after a recap. Not affiliated, just mentioning as his work is well respected.

Tell me more about your tuner and your favourite channel.

Main rig, Luxman T-110, well regarded FM only, dialed in by an antenna guru. Using now, bedroom system, Citation 23 with 16 presets I go through On the shelf, Yamaha TX-1000 which immediately replaced the T-110 before it was aligned. It sounded better on first listen and allowed me to get the...

    Winter Wonderland

When my dad retired from the army his retirement home/location had these two items on the list No lawn to mow No snow to shovel Tucson worked out, rocks and cacti for the yard and not much snowfall.

    Winter Wonderland

The vehicles will get you there. The brains driving the vehicles are seriously lacking most of the time. With all the snow you get in TN, I can see most of those 4x4 drivers ending up in the group that last said “Hold my beer and watch this” before needing a tow truck, body shop and at times...

Nice and quiet for a good increase in signal to noise. A foot always quiets the neighborhood.

What Do/Did you all do for a Living.

I didn’t, just a quick story. Not bullet point resume style, either.

What Do/Did you all do for a Living.

Do/Did for a living… This means not jobs while living at home. My dad, remember, US Army, moved with family to Korea in January after I started college. I was not kicked out at 18 as some are, I was abandoned except getting a check once a quarter to pay for college. My older brother was also...

What Do/Did you all do for a Living.

My dad was part of the US Army Corp of Engineers group that oversaw contracted construction at Stennis, before it was Stennis in 65-66 during the space race. I think he was working on a huge vacuum chamber, not sure. But the reason he was there was because the US Air Force did not have...

What plugs/connectors are you using on Phase Linear amplifiers?

Still is. Madisound has a few different styles and finishes starting at $50 and topping out at $197 for a single binding post, not a pair or dual, ouch and atrocious

What plugs/connectors are you using on Phase Linear amplifiers?

I refreshed a set of Kenwood L-07M amps and Glenn wanted Cardas copper binding posts. $86 per channel.

What plugs/connectors are you using on Phase Linear amplifiers?

I was helping out a friend, paying more for high end speaker wire than I would, but he needed the money and a c-note isn’t really money anymore, anyway. I bought a couple sets of used Kimber Kable entry level speaker wire (the 8 strand, 4 per side black and gray 13Ga each 4PR wire) that had...

What plugs/connectors are you using on Phase Linear amplifiers?

Those Chinese dual banana plugs are junk, Pomona rules that space. I had the cheap stuff peel, the ‘skin’ came loose and fell off. I tried to put real speaker wire in the plug but the grub screw was not threaded to the tip so anything over 18Ga would prevent the screw from grabbing the threads...

Just received a WOPL 700 II from Lee in a cabbage box!

About those Californians, with rain only from late October to early April in the East Bay, I had good, deep treaded tires on one car and would drive the other one nearly to the cords showing but only in the dry summer months. That odd short downpour one day caught me out and the quick rain...

I know, used to live in Jesup, Ga for a few years. 6” snowfalls were when the snowflakes were 6” apart!
