A PL cassette deck, currently on Audiogon.

Might be a good candidate for the PL complete-ist!

Probably too much @ 1000 BIN clams but the listing does accept offers. Maybe it's worth it though, since I assume these rigs are pretty rare. It does look to be in really nice condition...

Is that the Phase Linear version of a CT-F950 or 1000?

The Pioneer CT-A1 is in black finish, but I prefer the Phase Linear Model 7000's colour scheme much more.

I had to double-check, myself, Lee, as it's not often the topic regarding these decks gets brought up.

Hard to say, Lee. There's the Pioneer Elite CT-93 that's more modern that would be tough to beat. But, for rarity and if you like the looks, the CT-A1 would rank in my list of top 3. The CT-A9X was quite the deck in 1985-1987, too.

Dont foreget the Pio CT-95 and there were a handful of other 1990's Japan only decks with the lovely champagne face plates.

Nice addition John with the CT-95. I have a number of Pioneer Elite components, already, with urushi finish and rosewood side panels, so the CT-93 would be my first choice, even over the CT-95.

Nando.

I figured that. I had a line on a CT-93 about 10 years ago for next to nothing, unfortunately at the time I was liquidating my elite equipment and wasn't using tape very much.
