Ultimate Spinach - s/t orig MGM gold/blue lion label. Decent psyche lp, nothing overboard, sort of reminds me of Syd Barrett

Wow, just noticed the dust under my TT, I best get to that soon LOL

eh, on a Spinach kick. Orig MGM blue/gold lion label in shrink Behold & See. A decidedly different style offering that still retains it's psyche elements but also excursions into soft jazz

Explorer - s/t on X Records out of Germany released in 1982. This is a collection of Tony Carey synth demos after he left Rainbow. Megawar, No. 8 and Enjaw J are highlights

Broken beyond repair but highly affable
Knowing the legendary eighties music he had on early MTV, that sounds very interesting!

It is a nice listen when you want something different. This lp is dreadfully expensive though, expect to pay at least a couple benjamins for a mint X Records copy like this one. Tony re-released these recently (Explorer and Explorer 2) and they are far more affordable but different cover art

Cyndi Lauper - She's So Unusual - Pre Recorded Cassette - Finally got my Nakamichi 480 working again, nice deep sound. Dual Capstan with Pressure pad lifter. Have always liked the sound of this deck.

Hi Derek,

It has been awhile since I last plunked a pre-recorded cassette into one of my decks. What sort of tinkering did you have to do on your Nak?

Nando.

Well I tried to fix the recording section some time ago. A few components needed to be replaced, I must have messed up one of the circuit board tracks in the process, or shorted something. Anyways I did the best I could and when testing it for recording, something 'popped' and smoked. I thought the deck was toast and put it up stairs into the "naughty" corner. I got it out again tonight as I miss the sound from this deck, its stellar! Removed the few components that I tried to replace and cleaned up the mess I made. Its working great as a playback deck. Its also very handy for playing tapes where the pressure pad has fallen off, as it does not need a pad to play accurately, it actually lifts any pressure pad up out of the way upon engaging of the heads. Its good to have the old girl back, has already had brand new belts and pinch rollers put in it from the previous owner.

(The first copy of this album that I have found on cassette in a thrift shop that has not been trashed, a very heavily played album)

The Jeff Healey Band ~ Hell To Pay

Listening via Spotify.

A rare excursion into mainstream rock/blues for me - although this album is not without merit. Owned it once on CD but got rid. Watched the movie Road House (one of my 'guilty pleasures') the other night and I was compelled to give this a play after many years.
