On the Emotiva , Bob Carver thing...

Just finished a converstaion with a fella that was fairly much in the know on this and the public line is a difference in design philosophy, and that's true to a point. Basically Emotiva wanted to design to a price point and Bob wanted to design then price it. The bean counters win again(at least there).And now you have it , as close to the truth as we could get.

If they don't let him do his job right and commit honest mistakes it will be a REAL PITA correcting it down the line...and Carver's MISTAKES are worth the trouble usually.

Thanks Lee. I have been wondering this for some time. That sounds very practical as to what happened. An audio purist wants to design a masterpiece, but cheap as china bean counters force him on a price point. You get what you pay for. There's a reason Picasso's work is worth the money. ART. From an art purist perspective.

In this case, audio art, that had restrictions on Bob. A great artist won't give into that. Bob was good to do what he did. Emotiva's loss. Then again.......carver's monoblock tube amps go for thousand's........ I never thought of Emotiva as a high end product line that could support a Carver invention like that at their price point.
