Bose 901 Power Handling Specs

Very interesting Lee. I always thought the series I's were "unlimited". Also did not know series IV and V were though. I can see why VI's dont need as much power though. After going from them to V's, the VI's sound extremely boomy at low power/volume levels.

Need to get more power back to my 901's... the little Pioneer just isnt enough (imo) for them. :laughing9:

I knmow the Spec 2 wasn't enough...

Haha im using a little SA 7100 to power them right now. While I love this little unit as there has always been one in my house since i was a kid... it just aint enough. The 901's need more mojo for certain. Was a sad day when the 1801 went down... been keeping my eyes peeled for something since. At this point i'd even take an ugly ol 1800.

The Series 1 had less EQ, so their power handling was greater. I am running series II with a Luxman R115, one of the few receivers I've tried that can play these loud. The recommended minimum power is a joke! Series I are useable with normal receivers, but to run IIs get as much power as you can.
