Derek: I was 1/3 right when I said uncommon 8-track. The tape is a 1969 UK issue of Keith Emerson playing in the band The Nice. My buddy, Robert, scours the thrift stores close to where he lives, and in return I run long distance errands for him since he doesn't drive. He recently found and saved a half dozen 8-tracks of music he knows I like. He has a music collection, especially on vinyl, that must be in the thousands.

That is very cool, 8 tracks sure have some character to them. I have some Nice on vinyl, must get some more one day. So much music, so little time.

I've totally lost the plot....
CV D9's, souped up... :)
When the movie Earthquake came out, they must've had about 50 of their W bins in the theatre.
They were everywhere.
Anyway, eventually, theatres here found they just had wayyyy too many for 'normal' use, and so they were virtually chucking 'em out. Was that my lucky day. I ended up with 12 of 'em for $0.
Well worth the money spent, and lasted me ages, but eventually, even they got sold off to up and coming bass players and a couple of pairs went interstate.
.... but they were a good compact W bin, but didn't really go down that low. Maybe 40Hz, but even that can be enough.
I think my little brother still has a pair of D9's with his Marantz set-up.

To anyone wondering, yes, we're talking about the Cerwin Vega. :laughing9:

I'm hooking up my JansZen Z-900's tomorrow for a bit of a listen, (for a change).
Similar to the one's pictured, but in black glossy lacquer.
They have 4 electrostatic panels and 2x 10" woofs per box.

I've never had the opportunity to run them up since I bought 'em 3 or 4 years ago, except for just checking them briefly when I first got them, so it's about time I plugged them in as a pair of mains, (for a while at least.)
Since I like my smaller single woofer types, (Z-412's), I'm sure I'll like these too.

Those are quite a pair of vintage speakers. Hybrid speakers are intriguing speaker technology. Listened to Carver Amazing speakers some time ago.

I know they're not perfect, but they did bring on some changes that were new to the way we listen to audio, and they're not too bad, and quite entertaining.
Arthur Janszen was quite the "mother of invention" when it came to electrostats.
Although I think he may have passed away by the time some of his dreams were realised.

Broken beyond repair but highly affable
Fans, at this moment. I have no speakers on the Sx-D7000 right now since they were moved out for the phone repairman and I need to finish wiring the three centers and video projectors up before I put stuff back on the computer table...

and the TX-9100 needs to move to the top as it gets too warm in the middle between the (not running, not hooked to speakers yet) Yamaha CA-1000 and Pioneer SA-8800 (which is spaced and DOES have enough room to vent).

At least the 5.1 AudioSource surround adapter is now hooked up correctly and all the channels are fed.
