Yeah they both have their advantages, I was raised with PC's which is probably why I swing that way. Time for chores to be done, no more excuses, I'm being lazy.

So I'll throw this one out there.

How the hell can a lead just die?
OK, so I went to bed, and 6 hours later, I push the fader up, and no right channel.
Check everything, and the last thing I look at, (the leads from my DAC to my power amp), I find the right channel is open circuit!
WTF ???????
I haven't moved it. I haven't yelled at it. For wot it's worth, it hasn't even been in a freakin' car crash!
So why?
It's just an inert, immobile piece of wire, just sitting there. (and a very expensive one at that!)
No reason wotsoever!
Just sh*ts me right off.......
Man, am I p*ssed off right now! :banghead:

Can I ring you and piss you off some more? :laughing9: Have had the same thing happen to me. It could be temperature related, or maybe the wire was just barely touching the contact and finally gave in.

no, don't, nuthin' personal, but i'm ripping everything to bits right now and soldering up some new interconnects.
plus i'm just too grumpy right now, and on a mission......

That's cool, if you need to vent feel free to call. Its nearly bed time for me, gotta be in at work super early and determined to get 8 hours sleep which is optimal for me. Good luck with that, I'm sure you will have it sorted soon.

I've had interconnects die on me in the past and I cussed out the person that built them - than I realized it was me. Shit. Good luck with that - keep us posted.
 
OK.... back to a pair of JBL's, (now that i've attacked my Maggies with an axe), and now just a baby Crown, plus some 'trusty' old 'home made' i/c's, and things are sweet again.
This sort of thing happened all the time at gigs, but that's to be expected considering the punishment some of our leads went through, but being on holiday just lying around doin' nothin' on the floor for months at home is NOT reason enough to just die. I'm gonna kill all of 'em. All the bought ones. Mine don't die. No wonder everyone I know steals 'em from me...... :confused2:
