That's VERY nice! My entire house and sheds are filled with reused and repurposed items and DIY. I've spent $57 on a pair of Thomasville towers and $3 x2 on old 50s TV cabinets, even transformed a $3 dresser missing a drawer into a rolling CRT projector/video equipment stand.

When your MDF sags like that cartoon granny that used to be in Playboy it's TIME.

Nice photos of the deck and entertainment centre. You can never have enough room for components, I ran out of room long ago so have to think carefully of what components stay and go, very tough choice for me sometimes :toothy10:

@Nando I checked out everything and all features work including the Accubias and AutoSearch and the repeat functions. I lucked out with this deck. I missed out on the Onkyo 2090 which is more elaborate but this one is good too. One of my Russosound TMS-1 caused me to panic.Something failed in one of them. I don't know if it was a capacitor or a switch but the left channel suddenly dropped out although the deck's meters showed it was present. Fortunately I had a spare and put it in place of the other one. Maybe it was a switch to the amp of the deck but I changed the Russosound anyway.When I plugged in the Onkyo directly into Tape Monitor1 I got back the left channel so I know it was the Russosound.

Mine is in SAD shape (see my photo ) I feel that eventually the shelf that is sagging will collapse.That's why I went looking for a new stand.

I Know I have seen some photos of your components.I see now why you have to pass upon some stuff.

Ben: I think that entertainment system will fit your needs well, and without crowding components. Those routers are invaluable, aren't they? Hope you either repair the one you have or replace it with another. Is someone going to help you set up the entertainment stand? It looks heavy, even if it can be separated into modules.

Your Onkyo TA-2058 should give you more than a few years of reliable service. So, $117 is a good deal, after all.

The Delivery Men are going to deliver it for me. It is 97" wide so I have about 3 feet on either side to work with if the delivery men leave that space on either side of me and stand it so that it is away from the wall so i can get behind it. What I plan to do is move all of the equipment except for the speakers into another room. I will start that on Monday as the delivery men are coming on Wednesday. The speakers I will place on the other side of the room. I had a spare Russosound so that one worked well. I was in a panic when the Deck dropped out the left speaker but as soon as I plugged it directly into one of the Tape Monitors it worked fine. The Onkyo is a good buy for $117 in my opinion. Of course if the seller brought it to a pawn shop they would only give him $25 for it. That's the way they work.I have a big job dismantling the equipment and reattaching it. I probably need more speaker wire as what I have won't be enough for this size cabinet.On the Onkyo I used Maxell UR-60 and checked it for normal bias with the Accubias setting of the deck. I learned that that particular tape can't be driven too hard.You can only go to 0 on the input for that particular tape.Going more than that gives distortion that I can hear. This tape is not a very good tape in my opinion. But as Sam Palermo of Skywave says you should never go beyond 0 on any tape including metal. I know you probably disagree with his theory.As most Tape enthusiasts try to push it as far as the input will go without distortion.

The Stand was delivered this morning but I had to pick another stand after measuring I couln't get behind it to make the necessary connections. I found one at the same Thrift Shop for $10. It serves my purposes.
