I've totally lost the plot....
Do you run the fan/filter feature 24/7 and just run the ion/ozone for 5 mins? I have two average quality units that are on 24/7 with the fan. They do ok I guess, plenty of dust buildup on the pre filters within 1 week. Do you have a big monster unit or something?
no, the whole thing for just 5 minutes.
that's all it takes. turn it off after that. (inc the fan)

ps: they use these things to clear rooms of the smell of dead people.

Well I woke up today and opened the back door for some fresh air. All I got was the smell of something burning (like trees) and a strong waft of KFC (Kan't F***en Cook), wind must have changed. Put up with it for a bit then close the door, air filters made it pleasant again. Hope the wind changes soon, because in 4 years the KFC smell has never been that bad.

I thought up a slogan for them once...

KFC, where the only thing missing is U.
.... but the letters just didn't line up properly.

Still better than waking up to "the smell of napalm in the morning".

True. Its cold, cloudy, and I just don't give a damn. Gonna spin vinyl till they fly off the platter. At least the gear keeps the room warm. Neighbor is away so I can drive the amps as much as I like without being a pest. What are you up to today?

Thanks for info, will be quite some time before anything can be done upgrade wise here. Have many projects shelved, can only enjoy gear already obtained and functioning at this stage.

I'm doing absolutely nothing.
'cept listening to my Wang Chung collection end to end.
I'll be wining and dining my two cats shortly, but 'till then, I'm resting......
What format? I'm doing vinyl to beta-hifi transfers, rickie lee jones "the magazine", need to get motivated and look at this 3 head teac deck which has a hum/buzz, its in a million pieces at the moment.

I'm converting everything over to .flac.
It's good enough and soooo convenient.
I'm not here to listen to the shortfalls of my sound system. I enjoy the music too much.

.... well that was fun.
Out of a block of a hundred, only 20 turned up. That's just disgraceful.
Everyone expects that someone else will do something about "it". (wotever "it" may be.)
Anyway, there was heaps to eat, and no one to eat it, so we called it an early night, divided up the food, and all went home!
... and now I'm full, and feeling very relaxed with the sweet sounds of Clannad playing in the background.
Time for a cuppa tea me thinks....

A question:

OK, so I want to add a JBL 077 'tweeter' passively crossed over at 10K, (12dB slope) and was going to use an 'M-Cap' (supreme: 1204) 1 uF +/-2% (410VAC 600VDC) polypropylene to do the job, but now realise that even this arrangement could benefit from a bypass cap.
Is this true, and if so, what should I use now?
Anyone?
:confused2:

If you realise this arrangement woul benefit, why do you ask??
Allow me to correct myself...
I've read 'somewhere' that this can be of benefit, although the virtues were not explained....
I don't know crap about this stuff Lee, so I'm asking for verdicts, views, or anything that might be of help.
I'm an 'Active' man, if you remember, and 'passive' I know nothing about, except the fact, that if I have any DC problems again in the future, I'd at least like to save my tweets. (I'm not just looking at this from an x-o point of view, but also as a simple way of DC blocking too.)
If you feel the addition of a bypass cap is not necessary, then I will accept your advice quite happily.
