Listing for a friend in FL.
Very solid preamp, build quality is over the top. Cosmetics are excellent all the way around. Works perfectly (listening to it currently), just serviced it for him.

He is asking $700 for it.

Very nice preamps. I've been using one along with a P-250 amp for years now.

If you are looking for a pre amp for your system then look no more. It will be hard to find anything with the performance and features that tops the C-200 in a solid state pre amp.....

That's one sweet looking pre-amp there Joe.

What's up with the Log Cabin (1st photo)? Doesn't seem to be your usual electronic test bench accessory. Something funny might be going on here!

If you mean the assortment of wooden fixtures in the back right bin, those are the tooling fixtures I have ginned up to make assembly of light boards and capacitor assemblies go quickly, consistently and accurately. The other side of the lab has a similar box of label alignment wooden fixtures for putting on labels straight and accurately for the automotive products.

If you mean the Log Cabin syrup bottle, well that is the water bottle for wetting the solder sponges. Saves making a trip.

Comparable to the Spec 1 Joe??
Like I said in the earlier post Lee, definitely over the top. Except for the funky board issues that are well documented (PCB holes too large and solder flows through them) this preamp tops everything I have seen prior.

Controls are top notch throughout, noise free and very high quality.

kensonic

Not absolutely sure Lee, but I do not think so.
the founders of Accuphase left Kemwood because they wanted to produce a high end unit and Kenwood didnt agree for marketing reasons....thats why you see the name Kensonic Labs...if I remember well, they had to remove it later on because name was to close to Kenwood...was a lawsuit also I think..

What Johan said.

A few of the engineers left Kenwood right after the 700 Supreme Series iirc. They teamed up with a few others and Accuphase was born. Whether considered a positive or a negative they were known as the "Japanese McIntosh"

Still making some very impressive gear....
