Vizio is no slouched. Totally underrated if you ask me..
Is that the newest of the new Xfinity STBs you have there?
No, it is an old Cisco RNG 150 with the Xfinity name on it. It works fine but has that dreaded lag when switching channels. I just have the basic Comcast Cable channels. The box is needed for HD.
I am using the Klipsch sattelite speakers with a sub when not piping the sound thought the main system. The Blueray, DVD, Klipsch computer speakers are all switched through the tv, so when the tv turns on or off it switches the other components on and or off. I am using a green power center to trigger the other devices on and off depending upon the tv power.
Putting the 60 inch in the living room allowed me to move the 46" led tv to the bedroom. Probably overkill, but nice looking just the same. I am not really interested in 3D tv at this point, but perhaps in the future when you can watch a hologram or be part of the movie set it would be cool. 3D tv's and most surround sound gives me headaches as it is sensory overload.
