Hey guys,

I thought id share a little about myself, as there are a number of members I dont already know here. You can already guess im an audio enthusiast. I was born and raised around the stuff. Typically through the summer months, I tend to focus on my seasonal hobbies. I like to swap mix tapes and share music. During the upcoming months though, I usually slow things down with trading as I tend to find myself busy with my other hobbies. Playing guitar, and mountain biking are some things I enjoy. My two main hobbies though, are the system, and fishing.

Fishing usually takes priority through the upcoming months. I like to do a lot of camping too. Many of the places we like to frequent require some water transit.

If things go well, the season opener for Trout/Pickeral(walleye for you fella's across the border) is in less than 3 weeks. With that said, I hope our craft will be parked right here.

Right now the big issue is.... ice. We are still waiting for the breakup on the lake. Its been a cool spring this year, and we are racing with mother nature here for our long weekend trip.

Included here are a couple nature shots of last year.

Here is a shot of me fishing locally on the river from a year or two back.

And in true Nando fashion, here's a pic of my girls.

I have 3 kids, 2 of which are older and werent out with us that day.

I thought id make this post a little more about some of the other things I like to enjoy, as im sure posting about my gear, tape trading and other stereo related interests will be more of a regular thing than posts like this.

I hope you all enjoy, thanks for taking a look

Ben.

Ben: A great introduction! It's nice to see some of the family members and yourself. Ben and I do love our fishing, although I spend most of my time fishing in salt water and he in fresh water. If he, or his family were ever to come out our way we would get along as famously in person, than we do on-line. Lee is an avid fisherman, too. Love the pictures. Just so serene out camping.

Nando.

Hey thanks Nando.

Ive mentioned to a few other members here, that I have been lurking this site for over a year now. Lee's trout fishing thread was somewhat of an inspiration for me. Its nice to share other interests at times.

Amen to that.

We took the kids out yesterday, to a local stock pond. The young lad caught a nice little Specled Trout. He wanted to keep it so we brought it home and I showed him how to clean the little pan fish. Wrapped it up in some foil with salt pepper and garlic and cooked it on the q for him when I was out doing the steaks.

I love to eat fish almost as much catching them.

Especially over a campfire with the smell of pinetrees , and the breeze making the pine needles whoosh....

One of my favorite ways to prepare fish Lee, on the campfire. How ironic you mention Pine Tree's. Where we camp, has a lot of old growth Red and White Pine's. Logging companies have tried to move in to clear them, but the locals are always in protest.

Simple food, cooked over the campfire grill, always seems to taste better. I haven't camped outdoors in a long time, not since my kids were young. I have an urge to camp again, but somehow, I would prefer a tent trailer, or even renting a cabin as I get older. My kids found it annoying how I would always be cleaning up and sweeping around the tent. That's the Italian part of me.

Next time you fry fish, make a shallow pan out of aluminum foil, Put your fish in, spoon in some buttery flavor crisco, season to taste and smother the whole mess in onions and then add a can of beer to the cooking solution. GOOD STUFF!!

Never did LIKE sleeping on the ground. Nowadays I can stay in the cold water of the river longer knowing there is a forced air furnace in the camp trailer.

Sleeping on the ground is never fun even in a tent. The more serious guys that come on the long weekend trip (which we call the 2-4 as im sure many do), use military style cots. Ive been using one for about 8 years now, and ill never go back to sleeping on the ground. We do get the occasional brave fellow who sleeps outside on the ground. Last time he tried that though he got rained on.

I too am a stickler for keeping my tent clean Nando. I even have a little portable tent sweep with dust pan. :laughing9:

Great advice there. One of my tricks for not burning fish on an open fire, as I like to set the fish right in the coals is to pack both sides with onion to take the heat. I love to add beer in with Moose meat. Seems to help soften up maybe, either way its delicious.

Anyone caught outside, sleeping through a rain, is called "drunk."
