Ground wire plug for Technics SL-DD22. The wore is cracked at the plug end, shorts and makes disgustingly painful crackles in my speakers as WELL as the HUMMMMMMMM.

Can I fix it or does anybody have a replacement?

BTW, I put the Audiotechnica 1001 P-mount on in place of the Ortofon TM with the 7 needle that is shot and it SINGS other than that...the Doc Watson LP that came with it was great!

Is this just the connector wire from the headshell to the cartridge or is it a fixed headshell and that is the terminal from the tonearm, it is hard to tell from your picture.

Either can be resoldered it is just tricky to do. If it is the headshell tot he cartridge they are very cheap to pick up and just replace them.

You can also buy entire tonearm wires already terminated with connectors, you will still need to solder the terminations at the phono plugs on some, some are terminated here too but is it the correct termination fro your application is for you to determine. It starts getting pricey depending on the wire that the leads are made of.

Ebay and Garage a Records have them. Garage a Records has much better pricing for either.

No, it is the GROUND on back, going to the terminal on the receiver/integrated. Some Technics have a plug-in ground wire instead of hard wiring, as well as RCA jacks instead of hard wired RCA cables. Like many of their cassette decks.

Let me go see if my parts belt drive has one but I believe it's wired in.

Nope. It looked to be the size of a medium sized power adaper plug butthe center lead is thinner.

I'd have to look at a manual to figure out what it actually is, connectorwise.

You could try crimping it or expanding it to the proper size then apply a coat of solder over it to help it retain its fit, can't hurt and won't cost.

If that does fail check Parts Express, Mouser and Rat Shack and other places for a new connector to slder on, or open up the TT, and permenantly connect the wire on the inside and run it back out, probably even be able to run it back out through the hole that the connector plugged into.

I've had an ATM card for over 20 years and have free usage in over half the US.

And I run out of money often by the 7th...I run tight and barter/trade plenty.

PS Would somebody care for an Ortofon TM 7 in need of a needle?

Anybody. Cheap trade...

Debit cards have nasty fees, often 'hidden'. I have a $4 maintenance fee and $.01 minimum balance I've kept for 23 years.

Taken care of.

Old cartridge traded as well for no debt and maybe even a pair of midranges?...

Turns out a pair of 10" woofers were added to the mix and I MIGHT be able to finish a pair of SPEAKERS for the system specifically!

Sold two reels, one hasn't figured out I need an ADDRESS to send to. It'll sink in soon I hope. I was CRUISIN' yesterday! A sellin' fool!
