Goday everyone from Sydney Australia, I'm sort of taking a dangerous trip (with James Bond by my side), I could be walking in very dangerous territory here, I'm venturing outside tapeheads. :joker: Body armour all sealed..... okay, I'll cut the crap and basically say I love retro music, and listening to tapes. I love Maxell, TDK, Hitachi, and a little mucking about on the side, which seems to be taboo somewhere else, (hu ummm, grones my throat).

I'm looking forward to catching up with some old friends here. Honestly though, I'm most probably be a lurker for a wile anyway, I'm busy working on a radio station project in Sydney, trying to get a license, and when I get the chance, I'll have a bit of a stroll up in the Blue Mountains, and breathe some of that fresh Mountain air.

Hey Man, good to see ya, Mate! Take care and enjoy...
Will do, thanks, just navigating myself around the furniture which is a little differently placed (look out for my cane - I'm Blind - hahahah), but will no doubt settle in quickly.

I went and saw some friends in the city yesterday, who are also in to tapes, and they've given me a NOS 1995 TDK AR 100. They pretty much, just said tape anything on it, and then give it back to them, they love my music, or perhaps the fact I have nearly every song in the world - well kind of.

I'm currently on a project at the moment, trying to build a library of WAVs (not shitty mp3s) of every song that's charted in the Kent Music Report Top 100 (Australia's version of Billboard). I have much of it on CD, but what can't be obtained on cd, I'll go trungging through record fiars, and walk out with a huge bag of 45s under my arm. Yes, I'm doing this - some may say that I'm nuts, even my parents think I'm ape. But my friends love the fact I'm doing such a project, hence why they have given me the tape to throw a mix on.

Much of the time I'll throw a mix on from a month in time, such as June 1983, but other times I may just do a theme like solid rock, or rock revivals. 90% of my music taste is 70s 80s 90s, but occasionally I'll play a heap of 50 and 60s stuff, and confessionally I do like crooners, my friend hates them.

Welcome to Phoenix, we don't concern ourselves with how many forums you belong to, or if you post their names here.:)

Thanks webby, that's great to know, and this place looks relaxed and easy going, and I would like to think it will stay that way. Personally I think the key to these forums is to share a common interest, to tell each other about the various experiences we've had with the medium, and to share where possible, and I just think that this spirit has been lost in some of the places I've been.

Most of my tape buying days seem to be past me now - actual tape to use, I have enough of it. The few tapes I still buy from time to time are just collectables or - I haven't used this tape before, I wonder how this tape will perform. It's always interesting to read other people's perspectives on various tape types, and looks like this place has a fair few of those.

Maxell, we like to think we're as laid back as we can be, and still stave off chaos, although it seems somedays that's a fruitless endeavor, it's that darn NavLinear, he's just got to stir the pot.......

I once knew a man named Lee
When provoked he would pee
It wasn't fun
Cause when he was done
It would dribble down his knee

It probably doesn't need to be extrapolated much further but I am happy and vindicated a smidge today. My friend Mark has been done right.

Maybe we should close this too and talk privately a bit.

You know how to get a hold of me. But not tonight, am bushed. Glad it's been reconciled.
I'll get there but I also have to get ready to go with my aunt to view Grandma this evening.
