Well, I looked at the map, and Tularosa is just a bit north of Alamogordo, so it's almost local. I've only been as far as Alamogordo - it's a steep, high climb over Cloudcroft, and the "Cross-Eyed Moose" eatery is no longer there. I think I'll give the fellow a call tomorrow. If I go, I will take my camera.

Well, I e-mailed the fellow and he sent a list of amps and the like - he had mostly Heathkit stuff, all needing service. I sent back a polite thank-you, but no, I needed "ready-to-wear" gear. Ah, well...
