Hi Kids,

Just saying hello to everyone so I can say that I gave you a fair chance to put me on you ignore list while you still have a chance!!

Started out in electronics back in high school building crystal radio sets and learned my electronics while serving six years in Uncle Sams Navy, then spent the rest of my life either breaking or fixing almost anything electronic. :banghead:

I’ve been into doing the DIY audio stuff for awhile now so I like to look in on the various forums to see what’s going on and for fun things to play around with. Every now and again I might chime in with some info of questionable value – but it’s always well intended!!! :argue:

I’m living near the Nashville Tennessee and belong to the local audio club – so anyone around here feel free to contact me about that.

Az our old Skipper would say when we would pull up next to the oiler to refuel – “Glad to be here”…..:newb:

Not quite a full division of former Sailors here. I was a Sonar Tech, I think we have an Airedale or two here, the rest are or were wannabe's.

Welcome,
Mark

Dad was career Air Force so naturally I had to go Navy!!! Not really - the line was so long to get into the AF that I couldn't get in and thus opted for USN. Wound up working for the USAF as a civilian tho.

Dad worked in Finance and back in the old days was the Pay Master for the base - thus he knew everyone on the base. I worked at an Air Force repair depot and we had customers from all over the world - and az far az I can remember there were not any SAC bases in the Aleutian Islands..... We did have some other kinds of toyz there tho - amongst them my meteorological gear.

Nice Tattoo NavLinear!!! My weiner doggy iz giving that two paws up!!!! Did you send up aircraft stuff up for fab or mobile equipment stuff?
Yeah - to bad they shut McClellan down - but that's how the politics came down at the time. There are better places to be doing business than Cali and all of their tax's and regulations tho - and Tennessee iz one of 'em.... I married a Nashville gal and she drug me back to live here - but having been raised az an Air Force brat I can pretty much live anywhere and make the best of it. I love it around here - it's a great place to be!!!!

Two paws up for the weiner avatar!

I like the tattoo also. Would you like a close up?

Agreed - California is not the most business friendly state but it has led the way in some areas that have had great benefits such as air quality but some of the shit we put up with is a PITA.

Actually what we sent up to McClellan were telemetry PCB's to get stuffed and soldered. The telemeter was designed in house and we built and tested several hundred but had a fairly small work force so the overflow went up north to the AF. This was when most electronics boards were assembled by hand - and getting a helping hand to get this done was very much appreicated.

I like Tennessee and we have some property up north of Nashville so every so often we'll go visit. It's a pretty state and maybe one day I'll ride my horse there. My wife has a Tennessee Walker and we've spent some time outside Nashville checking out horses and other fun stuff. Nice place.
