Mink DeVille-"Cabretta" 1977 Capitol records cd (Culture Factory USA mini lp style reissue)

...The sound on this one sounds a little tinny on my living room system. I've read mixed things about the remastering done by Culture Factory USA. They seem to be reissueing a wide selection of titles (Kim Carnes, Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Romantics etc.). If you've never hears this band before I suggest you give "Spanish Stroll" a listen. What a great song! Streetwise Rock + Roll with roots in 60's R+B.

Forgot I made this awhile back.. For those familiar with Rush, Cygnus X-1 and Hemispheres are an interesting pair of songs to listen to. At the end of Cygnus X-1 (on A Farewell To Kings), the "voyager" gets sucked into a black hole... only to emerge on the other side in the middle of the battle detailed in Hemispheres. Here's an article that details it better than I can..

Anyway... so I took both, and merged them right at the correct point. Pretty cool! :thumbright:

Since Sony now owns EMI, the BMG/RCA Records labels, the former CBS Records and Video divisions as well as Columbia/Tristar/Sony Pictures Studios, this label has to either be a Sony imprint or a Time Warner label similar to Rhino (now the quasi-official re-release outlet for TW's midline catalog apparently).

Razor and Tie is another Sony imprint I believe.

I forgot Universal Music but they own A&M, Island/Def Jam, all the former Polygram labels, MCA-Decca/Uni and I THINK London/FFRR so that covers a lot already.

sounds wonderful. I'm looking forward to being off tomorrow. Hopefully with power...
earthquake last week, hurricane this week.
I hope that all you East-coasters fare well during the upcoming storm. It's a nasty one! For listening, last night and today, I have been playing Mark Knopfler's latest release "Privateering." Very nice mix and this band is spot-on. I didn't realize there was also a Super Deluxe version having bonus tracks. Also, picked up a used Matthew Good Band CD for $1 today. And a Dave Matthews CD for $1 last week. Both are stellar in quality and music.

Nando.

I should check that out Nando. Did you sample any Kaki King?
Thanks Joe for the reminder. I just checked out her web site and I'm listening to a tune for her new album, "Glow." This one should have been on the Acoustic Guitar Traveling Tape, had I known of her earlier. Thanks for the tip!

Nando.

Giving the Goldring another chance....

Roomful Of Blues-"Hot Little Mama" 1981 Blue Flame Records lp

...I increased the VTF from 1.75 to 2.0. Seemed to make a difference. I'm going to give it a chance and see if it grows on me. I missed my records!
