Listening this morning. Hum in right channel time to replace tubes. Need to set it up to use external speakers. Guess I could adapt the line to RCAs. Have to find tube tester. Here is a pic.

Don't think this transport is junk. I am getting some pretty good tunes on the headphones. Bad little headphone amp. May have to roll some tubes. Billy Thorpe "Children Of The Sun" Revisited Got a bunch of this. Not a bad little tape Ampex 631.

I'm not Lee I will give my reply. Which CDP? With a couple upgrades the amps would be sweet. Wonder how many bars it has been in?

For what it is the transport is not bad.

The amps on the other hand can be very nice. They make sweet SE tube mono's, outstanding MIC preamps and nice little guitar amps......No real tweaking (other than the standard freshen up) and you can have a very nice pair of SE EL84 amps.

Lee, you may want to try the amps out on those ultra efficient K-Horns.....

I thought by having tube tribulations in front of God and everybody, in colored pics by the dozen, and more symbols than letters, would have made the last sentence improbable at best.

They are being shipped to YOU!! Knobs, pots, and controls have that professional silky feel and touch though. Had to fondle them for a week. I will get em packed this weekend.

If I were you I'd still hook them up for a listen since they are there. That 4 or so watts of tube power my blow ya away

Really, all you have to do is make sure the switch on top (once pulled out of the case) is in the correct position and you can hook them right up to the K-Horns and jam on, brother......

Input impedance matching isn't critical?? Any idea what the input from the heads to the tape preamp was??

Not sure on head to pre impedence but I'm sure that info is available. I think there ia about a 12 page or better write up on these amps and mods for them on that other site.......(not to mention all the other threads on them)
