I got a sort of reminder from this site, an e-mail I decided to take a look at, got a new password, and here I am. No posts, but it seems I joined last March. I'll have to make up for lost time. I just hope this place is not as moribund as some audio sites have become...:confused3:

Welcome back. In most cases, it's the core membership which seem to contribute the most to a forum's activity. Keep it alive by being involved in disussions which interest you, and I'm sure you will be happy with what's offered here.

Welcome - I'm fairly new here and I've found this site fun, entertaining and a place to learn.

Beins your name is Lazarus Short I will resist asking if you are referencing Heinlein. Moribund is not how I would describe this site. Irreverent, unconventional, fixin-it mo-fo's is more like it.

It all started with a little book titled The Sayings of Lazarus Long. I started by imitating some of the sayings, and found that I had a talent for aphorisms, now running to over a dozen pages. In time I took the name Laz Short, my nom de www, and pen-name too.

Sure, here's a few:

Courtesy is that which people use to disarm you while they are preparing to stab you in the back.

“Chaos” is the name we give to our failure to discern the principles governing events around us.

Outside every skinny person is a fat person trying to get in.

Silence cannot be misquoted.

Theology absorbs twenty-seven times its weight in excess reality.

Membership in the right country club often has more to do with getting ahead in life than, say, intelligence, training, or good ideas. People who do not believe this, generally do not belong to a country club.

He who wants only to stay in his own little hole – deserves one.

The Muckraker’s Rule: If you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the dog that hollers is the one that is hit.

Anyone who has been in the news industry very long is telling lies for a living. On rare occasions, one of them will even admit it.

If you must wonder if your society has a free press or not, the answer should be obvious.

All decisions should not be left to bean counters – too many things are worth doing even if you aren’t pulling a profit.

------No truer words were ever spoken.

“Chaos” is the name we give to our failure to discern the principles governing events around us. ---------Chaos often occurs with success also.
