Thanks for your greetings all. Second day of spring here. Good thing I say, was getting very tired of a long cold and wet winter...roll on summer
Had a good Bday. Some family around for lunch, a few tunes during the day and my son turned up at tea time which was cool as he is pretty busy
with university studies and I don't get to see him very often these days. Loving the new platform, much easier to use.
Cheers all

Happy birthday Graham! Geri's birthday was yesterday, and we had a small party for her at the house. She is 50 plus 1, and you are 50 plus 2. Both of you Virgos and of about the same vintage.

Nando.

Graham ant TT work? What are you usig to convert from the puter to analog?
Ha. Call me old fashioned. I usually just burn a CD using a yamaha burner in QR Audio Mode.
I use a Korg MR1 to play back hi rez files and to preview albums before burning.
Direct from the PC...could not be bothered as it sounds crappy. I reckon USB stands for Universal Shit Bus. Ha Ha

Done some work on my phono stage. see this link http://killerdac.com/forum/index.php?topic=815.0

Jesus Graham, 12k?? Did I read that right? You might want to start a thread on this up in the phono section, and please add what you did with the HD drives ya sent to me, they sound very sweet, did you do some remastering? And if so what/how did you do it?

I love to play sound engineer with the parametric SAE eq

Hi Craig,
12K is correct but it really is over the top for this unit (hey I'm comfortable but I'm not rich) This one was a sample demonstrator imported by a mate of a mate 8 or so years ago. As good as it is he could not get much interest in it in Melbourne so my good friend brought it at a fraction of the retail figure. He used is for 8 years on some really nice equipment including a La Luice 25K TT with an air tangent radial tracker arm and a 6K ZYX cartridge. The rest of the system was just as high spec and the sound was bloody brilliant. My friend has just turned 69 and his hearing has started to go in one ear so he decided to cash in his top flight gear on the vinyl side. He offered me the phono stage at a price I just could not say NOOOOOOOOO to (I always lusted after it but never dreamed I would end up owning it). Anyhows I stuffed $500 dollars worth of Dueland capacitors into the outputs and holy shit..... Its not run in yet and it already sends shivers down my spine. If you have a look on the Vitas site their new model phono stage is 60K yes 60K !!!!! (yes and the new one does now have duelands on the outputs, just like mine :)

Send me your email craig regarding the HD stuff. I'm not happy discussing this stuff online.

Wow :), that rocks my last good nerve! Judy Spoteim is a Goddess!! (she designed the la Luce, for those not in the groove :study:) She is such a cool woman, started out for the love of music, George Cardis sent her some tonearm wire when no one else would give her the time of day, she is one of my idols. Pm sent of my email buddy!
