Well it’s time to get on with my speaker upgrade. This has taken far to long but I am working again full time and fitting these bigger projects in is not that easy

this thread has some of the construction info for these horns. Go the the link and follow on a bit it see.

https://forums.phxaudiotape.com/threads/dual-500-king-of-the-castle.9706/page-10

I have posted before on the wooden horn build. These are now going to get tested the case built to replace the horns in photos. Full paint finish will get done this summer when it’s warmer

I’ll post progress here in this thread

Also I will run a parallel thread on setting up of the three way crossover network an some issues around that

The horns have been around a while and Lee has built some. Check for his thread on that

There is some info on Al’s site http://www.alkeng.com/trachorn.html

These horns are fitted with BMS 4592 midrange drivers. I obtained 4 cores from Skratch in mid 2016, so you see how fast I move. I have fitted two with 16 ohm diaphragms. How going to test them today for the first time.
Big thanks to Mark for selling these to me and to Lee for setting it up.

The tweeters I am first testing are Beyma CP25 1" 25 Watts AES 8 Ohm Compression Bullet Tweeter

The Beyma CP25 Compression Bullet Tweeter is designed for use in multi-element loudspeaker systems in both sound reinforcement and studio applications. It features smooth response with wide controlled dispersion and high output. The voice coil is wound from flat aluminium wire, bonded to an aluminium diaphragm for extended response and excellent transient attack. The diaphragm assembly is field replaceable without soldering.
Features:
High power compression tweeter: 25 w AES
1.5" (37.6 mm) edgewound aluminium ribbon voice coil
Aluminium diaphragm
High Sensitivity: 104 dB
Constant directivity horn to achieve an extended coverage angle (100 x 60)

I've read all that in interest but nowhere did I see pricing for the wooden horns.
Sorry

I do not know at this time. I bought three kits and four tweeter from Fast lane a few years ago. I think about $ Edit: it was $500 for the lot in 2018

mill reach out to see what Dave will do on a group order. He will not just do a pair any more

Drivers are a different thing used vs new can cost from $200 -$600 per driver. If you buy a blown driver check on price and delivery of Diaphragms

Do your homework.

People it’s going to cost a bit to put these together but the results are well worth it
