I'm a late bloomer ... 'Bridge of Sighs' was always a thing but it's the rest of his post-Procol Harum, pre-1980 catalog that has me mesmerized lately.

Well, earlier in the week I went seeking a record store. I found the sign and learned that had closed.

But today, I tried another:


With better success.

Asked for Tower of Power; had it in hand in under five minutes. $7 and it looks clean, so I’m happy. I’ll be back here…



It’s about 5-10 minutes from my house too!

Jim: That looks like a good store to shop at. Are those pre-recorded cassettes on the shelving? Most used/new vinyl stores are now stocking pre-recorded cassettes.

Quite possibly.

I walked in : “we close in five minutes.”

“Tower of power?”

“funk; over there, other side of that row”

he and I arrived at the same time and he had his hand on the record.

I didn’t have time to look around. But the bulk is used LP’s but they had a good volume of new LPs along the left wall in that photo (not visible I think). I didn’t even walk the entire store but I did note plenty of used CDs above those new record boxes.
