Play the Game, don’t be the Game
Listen, once upon a time couldn't you get a small batch of 45 rpm records made for not-too-much-moolah? You know, for promotional material kinda things. I actually seem to remember little square 45s that you could cut off the back of a cereal box & listen to Tucan Sam? Or did I hallucinate this?

That 'song' is short enough to fit. If I could get that on a 45 I would dedicate myself to finding one of these...

Imagine the possibilities. I for one would go to the most self-serious of all audio shows & share the wealth...
Better yet, go to CES with it pretending to be Mr Big Bucks and insist that it be played on one of the mega systems that your interested in. Wonder how many would let you get through the whole thing on the possibility that you might buy one of their overpriced be all, end all systems.

Dude, I'm so there. We'd have to find a '76 Eldo with the big longhorn on the front of the 8' long hood. Then, get Perry to bondo up Lee like he so generously offered, I'd buff him up a little, and then we could road trip it to the CES show & attend as energy tycoons with the big bux.

If we got em to play it on some huge system it would be one of those laugh until you cried moments...

Don't doubt me...they are still out there.

Well that would be an audio memory I would leave in my minds ear for sure.

I think you got hit on the head harder than you think you did!
Nahh....that scratch will buff out, a little Sniffer bondo and off we go. CES 2023 gives us a whole year to get Lee healed, find a Dorado and get a record cut....nothing to it.

That's the scary part -- for the group of people that hang out in here? It really is doable!

Careful with that Eldo, Eugene!

Jeez, and people used to make fun of me for liking Edison Rolls!
Edison Rolls? You might find this interesting. Open this video & skip to ~32:50 & listen to this phono cartridge guru talk about making a high performing cartridge to work on your Edison Rolls:

Actually, for vinyl devos the whole video is pretty neat. Tell you what, if he wasn't so far away I'd intern there just to pick up some of that guy's hard-won knowledge & experience.

Enjoy --

Have you priced their cart's ? Wowzers they are proud of them, great stuff I'm sure but out of my price range. Maybe we should hit them up next year at CES ?
Me too! Here's my conundrum. In the other video where Mr. Soundsmith talked about energy storage & resonant frequencies up in the kHz range vis-a-vis the cactus needle cantilever...he actually had me when it came to the way that nature had designed the cactus needle to be a robust solution for the mechanical issues that he had identified.

So? I'm too scared to take a listen, for fear of having to look at the prices. (Just like there's a handful of cars I've never, ever driven...for I wouldn't be able to handle the torment of knowing, but not having. Does this make sense?)

Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. (see C-16 race edition.)

And that is coming from someone who is half-owner of this & loves to make people laugh out loud when the hammer is dropped.

...But, on 2nd thought, it wouldn't hurt to stop by & visit the guy while at CES? Maybe that catcus cantilever voodoo could somehow tame that Yoko OhNo mojo?

It took a little digging...but I found a photo of a Beach Boys single that was the back of a Post Honey-Comb cereal box:

Funny the things that stick in your head. Now if I could just remember what I had for dinner yesterday... :0)

EDIT: Actually, this looks to be a 33 1/3rpm single? Hmmmm...
