Unrestored chassis and transformer (yep, may be Fugly)

While those parts may appear to be worn, they will in NO WAY affect the operation/performance of a freshly built WOPL 1000 (White Oak Phase Linear, 500 WPC RMS).
These items have wear which varies since I have to buy a core amp to resto, or I can rework yours to the same specs as mine. I can also buy a very nice unit (cosmetically speaking) but the prices rise DRAMATICALLY as you have seen on the various auction/sales sites. Core amps run from $350-$500 for worn examples up to $700 or HIGHER for a nicer (but not perfect) example. Please do your homework, I do every day and the prices have gone WAY up for amps THAT DON"T WORK or are a "ticking Time Bomb" that needs a total rebuild. Don't rely on an amp which is 40 years old and decrepit to protect your speakers, build an amp you will never have to worry about at a fraction of the cost of a High End Amp which the WOPL 700B or Series II will Blow Away hands down.....
Levinson? No sweat, Mcintush? Ha... If it does not perform as advertised or expected, I'll give you your money back and the only question I'd ask (which I will ask anyway before your build starts) is: What are you pairing this with??? Don't expect an audiophile system with a Kraco preamp and speakers or an unmodded Kenner "Close N Play" Turntable.
