All good things...

  1. The Polk Audio Monitor 4s are running and happy, although I'm still wondering if the MW6510 is indeed a better choice...I'm going to switch out the crossover in the stray I bought recently for the other of the two spares I had first and determine if it was that or that, as somebody at AK or another place once told me, "that's a pretty big upgrade" when I said I had put an MW6510 in my lone M4....
  2. I do not know how stationary RCA cables break all of the sudden but I have a much beefier one I moved to my Pioneer TX-9100 on the AUX line temporarily and bingo, I have a right channel again!
  3. The oldies station that moved from a ~22 kw transmitter 15 miles away to a 250 watt translator maybe 60 miles out near Boise is much better these daze and I get it in strong and clear stereo with the help of the TV antenna line and amps. I still need one more amp to split the bedroom TV and radio and not overload the stronger stations or wipe out much of the UHF pumping up the gain for FM, even if I trap FM out...hey, I can't always get OPB-TV and BUZZ'R when I have to do that and fiddling with that gain knob all the time just messes the pot up slowly.
  4. No giggles from the Peanut Gallery over the obvious opportunities to point out the apparent double entendres I've left like shipwrecks here.
  5. I've got a dollar.
  6. The icicles on the shed were dripping an hour ago.
  7. Jesus Is Just Alright - The Doobie Brothers, on FM, to answer the question finally.

Graceland - Paul Simon

One of the most solid and best sequenced albums ever, right up there with the first three albums by The Cars and Sgt. Pepper's.

No such things as bad days, just bad moments
The Beau Brummels - Best Of The Beau Brummels 1964-1968
(1981, Rhino)

Laugh, Laugh....could not listen to that song often enough when it was released.

I bought a 2nd hand Rhino copy of "Introducing" for $15 specifically for Laugh, Laugh. Never paid that much for a used record before. Same shop wanted $50 for an original.

Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks

purchased new in '74 or '75, lots of great memories & listening with this record.

Flowers on the hillside, bloomin' crazy,
Crickets talkin' back and forth in rhyme,
Blue river runnin' slow and lazy,
I could stay with you forever
And never realize the time.
