PC4200 is 533 MHz, like Emily my Dimension E310,whuch only takes two, and I only have one so I've got 2x 512MB PC5300/667 at the moment as it only has two slots (which I posted in my thread at about 3 am. I believe mine might max at 4 GB but that's an expensive proposition unless somebody on CL has it used cheap/wants to trade.

I'm thinking you spent a tank of diesel for that RAM.

BIOS is not supplied by Microsoft. Go to the computer or board manufacturer's website and find the model or board for details. BIOS flashing is not always easy and can be problematic if it fails. Some are easier than others. In your case the HP website will probably have the files you need, or they may also have automatic programs like Dell that can read what is installed or you enter a code on the computer case *not the Windows key to determine this.

The computer will not come out of sleep mode. I have to trip the power strip to shut it off. After turning on I get the following screen....

I got to the screen that said "start windows normally", did that and away it went.

I would like to figure out why it won't start normally from just turning it on. It used to..

Did you try to reboot it after you got it to start?? If not try doing safe boot again and you should get an option to start at last known good configuration pick a date that you know it was starting as it should then try a reboot
