I am looking to see if any PL hobbiests have some PL meter bezels they'd not mind parting with. I want to replace my originals with some I'd like to have painted a different color; without altering my originals should I ever desire to go back. Thanks fellow PL Phanatics!!

Is there a "U-Blast" DIY sandblasting shop nearby you?

If you can't come up with a 2nd pair, blast the old paint off those you have and spray prime & paint them whatever color you like. If you want to revert, just do it again & paint black. I did my bezels that way but just wanted them stock black. The original paint was chipped in spots but when down to bare metal, some aerosol primer and semigloss made them right as rain.

The shop around here has a $15 minimum charge which is good for 15 minutes. Lots of time for two bezels. Only problem is while I'm in there stripping away, other things come to mind that I can blast and re-finish. It got expensive a couple of times.

Well I am looking for about 8. If You have that many? Over the last year I have finished aquiring the new faceplates, logo center plexi's and blue filters and now just need new bezels that either I can have powdercoated, or spray painted. (Though spray paint tends not to hold up as well and trying to color match the handles and knobs perfectly becomes a challenge if I am randomly selecting a can of spray paint to best match it myself.)

My existing factory meter bezels are in excellent if not mint condition. Original factory black paint all there and no dents in the face of the bezels as is found with so many "road warrior" amps. That's why I dont want to just pull them off and paint them. I'd rather replace them like everything else mentioned above. If I want to sell as original; I can then always revert since I have the original parts.

Lee; if you have 8 bezels in seemingly near similar condition as mine, PM me the details if you'd like to part with some. They ARE getting painted so paint doesn't have to be 100% of course; but it helps with evenness when refinishing so I don't have to scrape or blast.

Thanks! :)

Oddly enough I have neither. But sounds simple enough to get and do.

With Lee's offer for bead blasting standing; I'll elect for that since he's kind enough to offer before ship. I had some nasty ones I bought of the bay last year and I just painted them with a can of spray paint to get a temporary visual. it will be similar to this.

Lee. Ya got me interested. I'l, take eight please.

OK, I'll get them done this week. I like the silver bezels with the black faceplates....

Thanks a lot Lee!

I like the silver on black too. Tony had one made up real nice that somewhat resembles what it looks like. Can't wait to do mine up the same way. :)

So the story goes......

Thanks Lee! I JUST got my last amp back from my father Saturday after having had to barter them off last year in trade for him helping me cover my medical expenses from my eye surgeries last year. The deal was I had a year to get them back. After that; he'd put em up for sale on the bay. Good deal considering interest free for a year. And helping out his son.

And so I have them all back finally; and with the scorching midwest summer heat; I'm in no hurry to do outside yard work; and so begins at least a minor cosmetic facelift project INDOORS for the amps.

Enter in the bezels. That's the one thing I have left I guess since my year of downtime was spent collecting the other items I needed and saving small amounts to pay my father back. And now we are golden.

Work has had me bogged down too. Last week a major project at the engineering firm I work at was thrown into my lap. Long days. Usually not this busy. But resources are short. So naturally they picked the guy closest to the door. (LOL)! Anyway, Phase Linear has been on the brain while I'm at work naturally. So let me know if you are good to go too and I'll send some bills your way for the wonderful help you have been to me. I thank you again sir Lee.

And I still don't have em done yet. Long hours in the heat and when I get home I just collapse in the Lay-Z-Boy. By Monday for sure.
