Ron, I need to rebuild your on/off and your attenuator switch. I noticed when I went from DBT to full AC that I could hear your on off switch arcing and huffing and puffing. Should be all it needs. I have switches on sale right now for $7200.00 Paypal will work for me..... Ha.....

Hi Dennis
i will send you a couple buttons with the meter board.

I have had a color match done against the phase case. It is a mat to semi gloss speed enamel. I will see if it has a code you can take to your paint store.

have a look
Many thanks Glen. I need to take some measurements to see if something exists in today's market that I can find that may be a candidate for a substitute button. BTW - the extra board is greatly appreciated. Anything else that you need just drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.

I was just thinking... I see a lot of cheap 80s receivers use those type of push buttons. I wonder if they could possibly used

Looks like a market for you to build them. Same machine as your faceplate stands?

This is an option but I've found a similar button but I have not made measurements to see if the ones available are compatible with the switch and faceplate opening.

Mouser had some black similar buttons so I ordered 1. It won't work. I'm sure another brand name used the same cap but have not found it yet. I will need some soon. My 4 chassis/covers are coming back from the body shop next week and then the fun starts.

So can I ask a dumb question here? What exactly is the difference between a normal 700 series 2 and a Clair Brothers variant? And also, when giving said amps the WOPL treatment, does that answer change?

Clair Bros amps are built for extreme duty to their specs, the amps also have a solid steel chassis and they have the "hot" tranny that everyone wants for their WOPL1000s. With the WO upgrades, they are really the kahunas

I don't know if they are hotter or not but Ron's is sitting at 106 and the other is sitting at 107. The clairs turn into regular old WOPL 700 Series II's after gutting. They were just held to higher specs when new and they were sent back to PL if they couldn't hold spec. As Ron said, steel chassis with machine screws and kryptonite laser etched feet.

I still have the hair Bro, the guitar has been changed to protect the innocent. That's my current '76 Gibson Explorer. The one in the other picture is a 1967 V. That picture with the V was circa 1993, got that bitch for $700 back then, try to find one for less the $12k now LOL
