Didn't read far enough....just the needle...whew!

Had me worried for a minute. Could have been a undesirable WOPL side effect.

How do you handle the meter calibration when you go to a complete Whiteoak conversion? With the meter at 0 you are at 350 watts right? so do you re-calibrate so 0 is 450 watts?

The soles brave enough to crank the WOPL to the limit are you just burying the needle to the limit?

I am just guessing, maybe the red is when the amp starts to distort normally?

just asking

0db on a stock 700 is only 265 watts into 8 IIRC. Joe can give you resistor values to make it read whatever you want....

I bought two 100K input potentiometers from ebay and installed them, put the amp together and it looks pretty good.

finished front.jpg

The bad, it sounds like crap, there is not enough gain in both channels (the needles barley come off of the bottom when the receiver is all the way up) and it is not as loud as a 350 watt amp should be, not as loud as the PL400. Also the right channel is distorted.

I am using a Pioneer SX950 pre-amp out jacks and (4 ohm impedance) Ohm I speakers. This setup sound fine using my PL400 amp.

I will bring the amp back to the bench, but not really sure what to check.
