Dude is selling a 400 that Ed rebuilt. Looks to be a killer and the price aint to bad. Should have had all the guru stuff done to it.

I originally performed this work for James B.
James sold the amplifier on ebay for approximately $520 on December 16, 2015.

The fellow who is currently selling the amplifier on ebay took some liberties concerning the work I did:

  • Replaced all XPL909 output transistors with new TP9504 transistors (James ad copy: Replaced twelve XPL909 output transistors with twelve TP9504 transistors.)
  • Replaced both 5,900UF capacitors. (James ad copy:Replaced one of the 5,900UF capacitors.)
  • Total harmonic distortion: 0.06% (James ad copy: 0.09%)

NOTE: James had a limited budget for me to work with. So I wasn't able to use newer MJ series devices. The power supply capacitors are also not new.

I never "worked besides Bob Carver for years". I worked beside Dean Nissen (the last factory service manager).

Another oddity is that he put the amp up for sale the day I put it in the mail. He hadn't even seen it yet.

How can you be selling something on eBay you don't even have physical possession of yet?

Someone mislabeled the fish!

I looked at the list of this seller's stuff and I'm getting musical warts from it.
