When you have things on a rack, access to the back to switch wires around, or whatever, can be a problem. My wife introduced me to super sliders, so I made new feet so I could slide the rack around on the carpet. A super slider makes up the bottom, and on top of that, I glued a stout, large washer, to keep the super slider from distorting from weight. Glued onto that goes a foot taken off some dead piece of gear. I cut down the screw post with a forstner bit, nippers, and finished up with a Dremel. On top of that went a circle cut from that foamy, non-skid shelf liner stuff. Now for the Sanus legs, I took off the adjustable footers, laid an inch-and-a-half washer on the bottom of the leg, and held it in place with multiple strips of electrical tape. This all sits down onto the purple non-skid stuff, and the rack can be pulled all over the carpet with little effort or drag. Now to see how it does with a full load of gear...will update later.

It works! The whole affair fairly glides across carpet with the weight of the rack, a slab of plex, a 42-pound Yamaha amp, cassette deck, blu-ray player, tuner, phono pre (heavy), audio timer, and (of course) turntable. Access to the back of the rack is no longer a problem.

Thank you. Currently, I'm having fun loading the rack further with wire, cable, and two VansEvers Clean Line Juniors. It just never ends...

Glad it worked Laz. So that 'as seem on TV' really works!!

That's a slick retrofit for moving your rack around, Laz. I haven't had a rack of components that I didn't have to access the back of, so I applaud you for your efforts.

Nando.

Laz: Nothing like quick access. You conceal a bottle of cognac behind the rack, too?

Nando.

All that talk of modding racks and not one NavLinear post.
