PM to confirm availability as these are posted on AK also

Slayer - Soundtrack to the Apocalypse DELUXE Ammo box version from 2003. 4 + 1 blood CD, Slayer banner and backstage pass w/ lanyard and the big card (missing in borrowed image, my set has it). Set is NM, Ammo box in very nice condition. I only played one or two of the discs once since I bought it new in 2003 for about what I am asking, $125 shipped in the US. Very tough to beat that price for a nice near unplayed set

Metallica - Binge & Purge DELUXE box set w/ stencil, heavy booklet, (3) VHS tapes and backstage pass. Outer box in nice condition, all discs are clean NM, I don't recall ever playing the VCR tapes $45 shipped in the US. The backstage pass is usually missing from these sets. I have even seen the stencils missing from guitar players that sprayed their guitar cases with it :D (this one is not sprayed LOL)

Iron Maiden - The First Ten Years 10cd set in hard box w/ cover, outer box shows some wear which is typical (my images). This is the UK set. $165 shipped in the US. Discs are -NM, all artwork is -NM, no vouchers. You will not find this price beatable anywhere for a clean UK set

Set of 10 vouchers $100 shipped in US, I will not separate the vouchers under any circumstances. Vouchers and set together $255 shipped in US FIRM

If you have been thinking about this set, this is a great opportunity at a very fair price either way purchased. Very few complete sets out there as many dealers/vendors broke the sets up for individual sales. This set came from AK member Dale (elusive) originally. The set came with only 9 vouchers from Dale but I had the 10th one so they are complete. You could at the time trade all 10 vouchers in for a special wooden case for the record set. The vouchers are highly collectible as they also came in the lp sets and most often when you buy the cd or the record sets, the vouchers are missing

PM me for International shipping quote but these sets are so heavy it's going to be a bit. If you have someone to ship to in the US, LMK

PayPal only (F/F please or add 3% fee) to: topeliminator@earthlink.net

Please post SOLD and PM me your shipping info

I have no idea what this stuff is worth but since you are (I consider) a fairly knowledgeable keeper of Heavy Metal I didn't know if this is something you wanted to see. It is local for me. Probably just another temptation you didn't need to see.

Those Metallica sets are great. I have the first and traded the second. Have not had the third one yet. I doubt they would be into trading LOL

The 45 RPM sets are a pain, if you ask me. Especially across that many disc's. Death Magnetic, is also, imo, not a very good album. I have most all their albums on vinyl, but not that one. My buddy's and I refer to it as, shit magnetic. I have the Beyond Magnetic EP, but have never opened it. If I ever decide to open it, I hope its mastered better than DM. Dont have my hopes up though.

I agree, a hassle to do all the flipping but Through the Never is a great sounding set

Death Magnetic IIRC is deliberately recorded raw, I like a few of the tracks. Better then Load LOL

I have Through The Never as well.

Gonna have to disagree Ron, Load is by far a better album. Had you said Re-Load, I may have agreed. While the intent of DM was to get back to their roots, someone botched the mastering royally on that one. It wasnt until Guitar Hero got a hold of the tracks that they became decent sounding.

Taken from Wiki

As this waveform for "My Apocalypse" shows, the Guitar Hero downloadable version (bottom) is far less compressed than the CD release of Death Magnetic (top).

If that is the case Ben, my dbx CDP has an adjustable compression feature, I will give it a try tomorrow

Apparently while the vinyl sounds slightly better its not great either.

Ted Jenson who mastered the cd version, of Sterling Sound, wrote this,

“I’m certainly sympathetic to your reaction, I get to slam my head against that brick wall every day. In this case the mixes were already brick walled before they arrived at my place. Suffice it to say I would never be pushed to overdrive things as far as they are here. Believe me I’m not proud to be associated with this one, and we can only hope that some good will come from this in some form of backlash against volume above all else.â€

Death Magnetic appears to have been ruined in the final mixing stage. It’s here that all the songs were heavily compressed, peak limited, and otherwise turned into static mush. That’s where all the problems lie.
That would normally be the end of the saga, aside from our grumbling of the latest casualty of the music industry’s insipid loudness wars. But suddenly a new wrinkle appeared from an unlikely source: the video game Guitar Hero.
Metallica made its new album available for play on Guitar Hero the same day as the commercial album’s release. Because of the game’s development time, Neversoft, GH’s creators, were given tapes that preceded the final mix. Put simply, they have a second mix of the album.
This is a stunning surprise, one that will in all likelihood save this album. The GH mix contains none of the heavy compression of the CD or LP versions. None of the squashing, none of the squeezing of the sounds. None of the painful jabs into your ears. Dynamic range is present in the songs. Quiet moments in songs like Unforgiven III and The Day That Never Comes are quiet, and the loud parts are loud. This is a completely different album than the version the mixing engineer destroyed.
The next question is rather obvious. When will somebody rip the GH mix so we can listen on our iPods? It’s really only a matter of time. We’ll have to troll through the internet for the fan mixes. Even better lies the possibility of fan-made mixes of D-Mag. This is possible because Neversoft
was given the separate tracks for their game. When you miss notes in the game, the guitar cuts out, but the rest of the band continues. This means Neversoft managed to create an album mix of their own, while also retaining the separate channels.

I don’t know about you, but I would love to tinker around and create my own D-Mag mix. Even this idea isn’t a new one; Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor recently made his latest raw tracks available to the fans, so they could create their own custom mixes. In our internet age, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see more of this in the future. Games like Guitar Hero point to the future of pop music interacting with fans in new ways.
All of which points back to Metallica. In a perfect world, the band would deal directly with the terrible mixes on their new album. It really is terrible, and I remain speechless that such shoddy work would be released to the general public. If we are correct, that all the problems lie in that final mix, then this is a problem we can easily solve. I would prefer that Metallica themselves handle this. After all, it’s their album.
But if that doesn’t happen, we the fans are more than ready to step in. If that happens, expect “the Guitar Hero mix†to become the stuff of rock legend, like that original mono mix of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Will it uncompress a compressed recording?

Lee, per the manual I have is below. I notice "brickwalled" cd's are far more listenable

Manufactured by Kyocera. Has a LED that flashes when it finds and corrects errors. Has twin Burr-Brown 16 bit PCM56P DACs
