It looks nice with the wood sides..
It does, but unfortunately the wooden side panels doesn't make it a quality deck. Yes, it says ES on the corner but it isn't of the standard the real ES decks really where.....

I owned a deck with perhaps slightly better specs than this one (including Dolby S and the double speed FF & RW features) which was fun to fool around with for while but overall nothing to write home about..

I have one just like it that needs a mode belt replaced. I could probably be convinced to let it go to a new home.

I'll have to dig it out. I remember it was working fine the one well started to squeak, then the door wouldn't open so I took it out of my system and pulled the cover. I was going to order belts but never got around to it. That was about 5 years ago. I think I tried it again a year ago and neither door would open.

I am guessing it would need a full belt kit.

IIRC mine was it nicer shape then the one on ebay.+

I chose the 90 over the 901 when I bought it as I liked the looks of the 90 better then the 901.

Hi Fi Engine has a user manual, but not sure if they have a service manual.

I was able to dig the deck out today. I will post some images later on tonight.

Looks like it needs drive belts and probably mode belts.

That's a good-looking dual well cassette deck, John. Has anyone got dibs on it, yet?

Nando, just out of curiosity, have you done anything with the a/d/s you got from me?

Ron: Being the holidays, I haven't used it except for the initial playback when I first got it. I had already spoken to Gordon at Innovative Audio about a tune on it. Apparently, it's not an easy job. He said they've only had one in for repairs. But, once I've tried recording with it I will better know what I need to have done beyond a lube & tune. You've seen the video. It played well right out of the box. One of the decks I enjoy seeing most in action - especially with the slide-out tape tray.

Nando, if you are interested let me know, other wise I'll post it for sale. Unfortunately Postage to Canada will most likely make the deal prohibitive.

I'm going to pass because I know what shipping costs will roughly be. But, it's a clean and nice-looking dual-well ES deck, John.

That is such a bitchin' looking deck, glad it went to someone who appreciates it. I know it has a good home with you. That deck is sorta satanic, whenever I started a tape, it would be 666 on the digital readout for some reason LMAO!!!! It probably one of the heavier decks I have had. The slimness belies the weight

Ron: I did have the 666 come on once on the tape counter. But a few splashes of holy water and the Lord's Prayer, and it hasn't done it again. This is the third successful exorcism I have had on a possessed cassette deck.

Lee: Surely not the triple-gilded, diamond-studded end of the pimp-stick.
